Tour description
Inside the Vatican City, the huge palaces known as the Vatican Museums were the residence of the Popes during the Renaissance period. These galleries and private apartments, richly decorated with frescoes and tapestries, now house the Vatican’s extensive collections of ancient and modern art.
Highlights are Raphael's Rooms and the Sistine Chapel, with Michelangelo's famous frescoes. We'll also visit the ancient statues collection (Pio-Clementine Museum), the Candelabra, Tapestries and Maps Galleries.The tour ends with the visit to the impressive Basilica of St. Peter's (Michelangelo's Pietà) and St.Peter's square.
Please note: dress code requires covered shoulders and knees.
