Tour description
This tour includes pick-up at your hotel in the center, and an in-depth visit of this fascinating museum, a real must-see in Mexico City.
Its collection of prehispanic art and contemporary cultures is huge, therefore we cannot see all but we don't limit ourselves neither to just the individual showpieces of the archaeological and folklore heritage of the Mexican peoples.
Instead, we focus on their cultural evolution during the last 3000 years. As such, you will be 100% prepared to understand more about the archeological sites and indigenous villages you will visit during your stay(s) in Mexico. Therefore, in contrast to most guided visits, we will not only halt at some Aztec and Maya pieces, such as the Sun Stone and king Pakal's tomb, but pick out the most impressive achievements throughout Mexican cultural history, including the Olmec "mother" culture, the aesthetic gems of Zapotec and Occidental cultures, and the civilizations that laid out the foundations for the Aztecs (Cuicuilco, Teotihuacán and Tula).
Due attention is also given to the building itself - one of the mayor achievements in Mexican modern architecture and in the art of museum display.
